Dry Creek Chronicles

Letters to scattered family and friends

Another poem

Recently in the Curiosities sidebar I pointed to a poem I enjoyed. Not being much for poetry, I am doubly surprised to have just come across another one, this one by W.H. Auden, written for the 1946 Harvard commencement ceremony. First read this brief article describing the background of the poem “Under Which Lyre,” then read the poem itself.
