Blues Stay Away From Me

A Delmore Brothers song, but an unusual one from late in their career. Brother duets were long dead by the late 1940s, but there was a short-lived boogie craze that the Delmores managed to catch for a last batch of hits. This is one of the songs they wrote in that period, and one of their best ever. Usually it’s played more upbeat, but to me it has a 3am sound that makes it good for stretching out at a lazy pace towards the end of a second or third set.
