In June 2002 we were all experimenting with music. Chris and I were back from our first jam camp, about to attend our second, and thinking about performing. Maggie and Matthew were also eager to give a stringed instrument a try, but a guitar was out of their reach (literally)

We thought that dulcimers might be worth a try, so when we learned about a nice dulcimer shop in historic Jonesborough an hour south we paid a visit. There were plenty of dulcimers, mountain and hammered. And there was also an unusual instrument that they called a dujo, a dulcimer in the shape of a banjo. It actually played pretty well, so we bought one for Maggie and Matthew to share.

Maggie tries out the dujo.

Matthew very intently picks out Bile Them Cabbage Down.
