Lonely Tombs

Another Hobart Smith song. His recording is a treasure, done in his living room with an out-of-tune guitars and his sisters adding uncertain harmonies. How can such unpolished performances hold such power? I don’t know. Love, maybe. At the heart is a great song that can carry anyone along, even us.

  1. Hmm… that does’t sound like Hobart Smith, and the song certainly isn’t “Lonely Tombs”! Nice, though.

  2. Oops! That was “Woman at the Well” (which is a Hobart Smith song too!). I’ve fixed the link and checked it. Thanks.
